It's almost October and this is definitely my favorite time of year to knit: especially all of the autumnal colors!
I have several projects on the needles, but I'm looking forward to more, so it's time for a check-in because I'm feeling overwhelmed!
WIPs:
- Clint's new socks. I will probably call these "Galaxy Socks" because they are in honor of Clint's new job as a 6th grade Science teacher and the colors (purples, blacks, blues) remind me of all the trendy galaxy imagery you see everywhere. I finished the first sock yesterday, and I'm on to the second one. I have the cuff and 20 rounds of the legs so far. I'm hoping to use the leftovers as the heels and toes of my Boston socks....
- Boston Socks. After starting the pattern and examining the yardage of my yarn, it occurred to me that I may not have enough yarn 😟. So I came up with the brilliant idea to do the heels and toes in a different yarn which I've never done before! Of all the yarn I have around the house right now, the Zauberball would be the best match, so these two pairs are inextricably intertwined.
- Daybreak Sweater Tee. If only I had frogged and restarted earlier in the summer. I love this design so much, and I want to wear the FO so badly, but I am having a hard time focusing and working on it. I may have to hibernate until January.
- March Hat. March! Ha! I could probably finish this within a few days if I set my mind to it, but my mind is elsewhere. Probably going into hibernation.
Projects I Want to Start:
- Musselburgh Hat. I made this pattern once last winter and loved it. I have a yarn (Zara Hand-Dyed Art Yarn) in my stash that I got in the previous Boston trip, and I just want it used. I think this yarn is a good match for the pattern.
- Ursa Sweater. I queued this sweater back in March, and I keep thinking about it, so I think that's a sign. It's cropped and uses a bulky yarn, so I'm hopeful it will be quick. I ordered some Natural Wool from KnitPicks (3 skeins of Winkle).
- Peek-a-Book Tee. The urgency isn't as strong with this one because it's short-sleeved. I would have started it sooner, but I'm short one skein, so I ordered that from KnitPicks too.
- Snow Punk Cowl. This is a pattern that came free with a beautiful skein of yarn I got in Syracuse this summer. The colors are super autumnal, and I decided back in the summer that I would cast on this project on October 1!
- Autumnal Washcloths. Ordered four new colors of Dishie from KnitPicks: three specifically for autumn, one that could work for autumn or Christmas. I needed to spend $2 more to qualify for free shopping, so...
- Heel-Toe-Do-Si-Do Socks for Me. I'm using this pattern for Clint's Galaxy socks and I love it! It is the first pattern I've ever purchased from Kay (aka The Crazy Sock Lady), and it is so well-written and easy to follow. I can see using this pattern over and over, and purchasing others from her in the future. I have 3 skeins of Shibui Knits Sock that I purchased over ten years ago! I have to knit is; it's driving me crazy!
- A Hat from the Year of Hats. I purchased one more skein of Kelbourne Woolens worsted because it was on clearance through KnitPicks, so...
Other:
- I mended a hole in my shrug. I didn't mend it well, but at least, I will wear it out of the house now. I may redo the mending though...
- I've been thinking of purchasing some 9 inch circulars for socks.
